This visa category is structured for those who wish to spend their retirement in Sri Lanka and is eligible only to those who have reached the age of 55 years and above. Successful applicants, will be granted a renewable two year resident visa. Under this category, employment or the direct involvement in any form of business related activity in this country is strictly prohibited.
1/ Certified copy of the passport.
2/ Request letter from the applicant.
3/ Two passport size photographs.
4/ Bank statement from the applicant’s former country of residence.
5/ Confirmation of a fixed deposit to the value of US$15,000 or the equivalent, in an approved bank in Sri Lanka.
6/A monthly remittance of US$ 1500 or the equivalent, for the principal applicant and US$ 750 towards the upkeep of each spouse and dependent child -if accompanied by spouse/children- in a savings or current account in an approved bank in Sri Lanka.
7/ Copy of the applicant’s medical insurance certificate which incorporates an international health cover.
8/ Police clearance report from the applicant’s former country of residence.
* Please ensure that all the documents are genuine, as the submission of false documents for the purpose of obtaining a visa is a punishable offence in Sri Lanka.
